The Blackmagic Design UpDownCross 100G is a powerful 8-channel standards converter built for native SMPTE-2110 IP broadcast workflows over high-speed 100G Ethernet. It simultaneously converts up to eight separate channels of SD, HD and Ultra HD video to any other standard at the same time, performing up, down and cross conversion on each channel independently. Supporting television standards all the way up to 2160p60, it lets broadcasters, OB trucks and IP production facilities normalize mixed-format sources flowing across a 2110 network without dedicating a separate converter to every signal path.

Engineered for demanding live and broadcast environments, the UpDownCross 100G uses two 100G Ethernet ports to deliver full SMPTE-2022-7 redundancy, carrying eight channels of Ultra HD video over a single optical fiber to dramatically simplify cabling. A dedicated NMOS connection handles routing and discovery of IP sources, while dual redundant AC power supplies keep the unit running through a power fault. The compact 1RU chassis features quiet front-to-back cooling, making it equally at home in a crowded equipment rack or a noise-sensitive control room.

Operators get full local control and confidence monitoring from the front panel, which includes a built-in LCD for checking video inputs and outputs plus a speaker and headphone output for audio monitoring. With its menu localized for 13 popular languages and a software-defined feature set that can be expanded over time, the UpDownCross 100G is a flexible, future-ready building block for large-scale IP video infrastructure.
