So many great old handmade pin cushions out there, how could one not want to collect them?  This one I found at a country/primitives show in Connecticut and just love that red white and blue--and green--embroidery against brown velvet. And the shape too, like a small potato! More embroidery on ribbon that runs around the perimeter, and then a nice brown on cream woven fabric back. 

3 1/2" x 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" t. Good condition, general wear from use, with some loss to the red thread embroidery running around the perimeter. Well stuffed, stable and sound, no loose seams. Late 19th c. or so, I believe.
