Issued by Jersey in 1982 for the Europa series, this pair of stamps (both denominated 19½p) illustrates the island’s prehistoric geography. The first stamp depicts Jersey around 7,000 BC, when it was connected to mainland Europe due to lower sea levels. The second shows Jersey around 4,000 BC, by which time rising seas had turned it into an island. Designed by A.
