After installing the new brake pads, it is very important that the pads are bedded in; this extends their lifespan.

Braking in:

Bedding in new disc brake pads significantly extends their lifespan! Gently pull the brake lever while riding, ensuring the pads are in contact with the brake disc. Ride for about 100 meters at 25 kilometers per hour (15.5 mph), then brake harder at the end to reduce your speed to about 5 kilometers per hour (3 mph). Then slowly increase your speed while braking lightly. Repeat this 10 to 12 times to ensure your new brake pads are properly bedded in.
