Also known as Red Bush, it is produced in South Africa. Rooibos is known to have excellent antioxidant properties and is naturally caffeine free. The liquor is bright and rich with a delicious sweet orange and light clove character.
Brew with freshly drawn boiled water that has cooled for 2 minutes, for 3-5 minutes.

Rooibos (aspalathus linearis) only grows in the Cederberg mountains, a dry and rugged area off the South Africa’s western coast 3 hours north of Cape Town. It is typically harvested in the Cape summer (Jan-March). New planting happens in the winter (August), which is also when the region typically gets most of its minimal rainfall. Bushes need 1-2 seasons before they establish, and typically can be harvested around 3 times. The tea is made in a similar way to traditional oolong / black tea, i.e. it is bruised and oxidised, which makes the needle like leaves to turn from green to amber. Unlike traditional tea, however, it is naturally caffeine free and low in tannins.
