Woody Hambrecht is a busy guy. He's already crafting some of our favorite N/A wines (Woody's Wine) and high quality boxed wine from the south of France (Ami Ami); now, he's launched Pop's Wine in honor of his grandfather, who planted vineyards across Sonoma County in the 1970s. The blend - a kitchen sink mix of organic, hand-picked Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignan, a splash of Viognier, and more - is a nod to the diversity within the vineyards of Sonoma, focused largely on the heritage varieties that played an important role in California wine's history. History aside - this is just an absolute cracker of a wine, all juicy, brambly red berry and freshly picked fig, orange peel, and ever so slight baking spice running through. A no-brainer for your holiday table.
