What's the purpose of a Lateral Limiter?
Lateral limiters control engine and transmission movement during hard acceleration or braking. Recommended when using motor plates to mount the transmission and engine.
These complete kits are as shown; includes 4130 chromoly tubing, rod ends, hardware with mild steel tabs, or chromoly bolt-on brackets are included with the Powerglide limiter version. Final fitting and welding required.
C42-427 Universal Kit
Can be fitted to any location as needed, also includes weld on tabs for mounting.
C42-429 Glide to 9" Kit
Bolts to the tail shaft fasteners of a Powerglide transmission when using a "shorty" conversion kit - no tail shaft. Bolts to the bearing retainer fasteners on an Ford 9" OEM style pinion bearing retainer.
The Chromoly bolt-on brackets used in the Powerglide to 9" lateral limiter kit are Yellow Zinc plated for corrosion resistance and may also be purchased separately.
Note: Welding should always be performed by a qualified welder.
