Egyptian Fayoum handmade serving dish.

Traditional methods such as ancient enamelling techniques and local materials such as clay from the Nile Valley are used to create beautiful pottery. Each piece is handcrafted by artisan potters in the small oasis village of Tunis in Fayoum.

Each dish is hand painted which produces stunning and individual works of art. Every piece reveals the skills and talent of the artisan in a subtle harmony of patterns and colours, a free and naïve interpretation of the surroundings, mainly inspired by the fauna and flora of the oasis.

Use this heirloom piece as a serving dish or for salads of any sort.  This dish is deeper than our other serving platters so very handy for anything with sauces. 

Hand thrown earthenware serving dish  - 36 cm diameter. Approx 10cm height. 

Not dishwasher safe, hand wash in warm water.
