This is the sort of watercolor I'd hang amid a salon style wall, or in a quiet nook--transportive in a quite way and nicely atmospheric. I presume it is an outcropping of trees on the island or peninsula in view in the distance, but those tallest pointy trees look rather like spires so it keeps making me think of Mont Saint-Michel, and so this little painting becomes all about minding the time so as not to get stranded when the tide rolls in!

7 7/8" x 5 3/4" framed, as found. Sight: 6 5/8" x 4 13/16". Good condition with old paper on the reverse and string for hanging. Early 20th c. I believe.
