Björk, the feminine-form Icelandic word for Birch, is not just a mystical avant-garde art pop goddess. It is also a mystical avant-garde fragrant liqueur handcrafted from distilled grain spirit, infused with Icelandic birch handpicked in the spring, and finished with Icelandic birch syrup. One of the creators, Ólafur Öm Ólafsson, said he "wanted to capture the sensation of the bright Icelandic summer night at the moment when the rain shower clears and the morning dew sets on the birch clad hill". It certainly comes close, with woodsy-spicy notes elegantly softened by a burnt caramel sweetness. Bottled at 27.5% abv.
