G-Shock origins, refined to the nth degree

In the MRG-B5000 series, the iconic design of the first-ever G-Shock is re-expressed with a passion for quality befitting the flagship line of the brand. A multi-component bezel enables precision polishing, and the use of Cobarion®, a super-hard alloy, enhances the metal texture of the mirror finish. The new addition of a Dura Soft band made with fluoro rubber material ensures a comfortable fit. Featuring a construction employing artisanal techniques and leading-edge technologies, plus further refined materials and finishes, this timepiece captures the beauty of form of the original G-Shock, which hit the scene in 1983, now in an evolved design that only heightens the iconic look.

This bezel alone consists of 25 different components, each individually polished for a stunning detailed texture. The state-of-the-art Multi-guard Structure incorporates flat springs and silicone buffers to the multi-component bezel, ensuring outstanding shock absorption to protect the dedicated MR-G module with blue-plated retainer plate.

As a nod to the black-and-gold colors of the earliest G-Shock models, this MRG reference features pushers and bezel components ion-plated in gold against a base of black diamond-like carbon coating. Touches of gold vapor deposition add bold interest to the watch face, and the iconic brick pattern is a nod to the original DW-5000 G-SHOCK design. Inside, this MRG-B5000 delivers G-Shock's unbeatable feature-rich utility and timekeeping, using radio-controlled calibration and smartphone pairing via Bluetooth.
