Of course I love a folk art carving that is also a bell, but I think this one is especially excellent for the quality of the painting on her face especially--to me she looks almost as if she just just stepped out of early 19th century painting, and, with those hands clasped in front of her, has a bit of the feel of a santos, too. (And with her combo of bared shoulders and prayerful gesture, she seems quite rpoised to serve however one might like!) I might guess European rather than American, but don't know for sure, early 20th c. I would think. 

3 3/4" t x 2 1/2" d and in very good condition, with some scattered minor loss to the paint of her bell skirt. Great patina.
