These two women look like they're having a good time, and what great hats and dresses! I like to think they were best friends, who had this photo taken during a day of fun together--on a seaside vacation one would think. It's a bit curious, then, that the reverse side is signed Ella and Bert and mailed from land-locked Portland, Indiana! But, postmarked 1911, during the height of real photo postcard popularity when it was common to have postcards made using ones own photos, I'd guess it was one of a stash Ella kept handy to dash off as needed. 

3 1/2" x 5 1/2". Overall good condition, with some stains around the edges on the front, used on the black, but the photo still really great!
