I've found some terrific hand-painted rocks--happy assertions that creative beings will make use of every available material to make something wonderful!--but this may be my favorite yet.  I love that its maker drew his or her inspiration from the shape of the rock itself, rendering this woman, quite a character, in profile, with her dog snuck beside her along the lower edge. At first I thought the sparkle along her hairline was a little loose glitter, but the two little bits, pink and gold, are in fact glued on to the rock as an earring. And then the back is painted too, with an allover pattern of pink faces with white hair and bright red lips. This little rock just really makes me happy!
