Oyster Essex by Rolex is a very rare watch and one of the most elusive ones made for the Canadian market by Rolex in the 40s.  The case is a nice sturdy Stainless steel one in very fine condition with a signed Oyster Patented screw down crown functioning well and a knurled screw back.   The Oyster Essex is running well and has a beautiful and evenly aged vintage dial with an outer minute track, gold Arabic numbers and black pointers and seconds sweep hand.  The Oyster Essex contains a Rolex caliber 59 movement with 15 jewels and watch is signed “Rolex” under the dial. The Oyster watches were used by Canadian soldiers going overseas during  WW2 and very few of the Essex model have shown up making the Essex a rare model.  32 mm diameter.  Grey leather size 18 strap.
