Run a hand across this and the first read is softness — closer to brushed cotton sateen than to traditional rug wool. The 3M-points density gives a dense, springy give underfoot; in stocking feet it has a comforting bounce. The medallion sits raised above the field, so it reads dimensional in raking afternoon light.
