Ben Holladay Bottled-in-Bond is a new release from the Holladay Distillery in Weston, Missouri.  Holladay Distillery intrigued us because they are a craft distillery that did not take any shortcuts, waiting seven long years for their whiskey to age.  A true Missouri Straight Bourbon Whiskey, it is mashed, fermented, distilled (from a mash bill of 73% corn, 15% rye, and 12% malted barley), aged, and bottled in the state of Missouri.  The nose beckons with notes of rich caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, leather, and oak.  On the palate, dark stone fruit leads the way followed by baking spices and leather before finishing on warm spice and musty oak.
