PLANT:

Phyllanthus mirabilis is a rare and enchanting caudiciform plant native to Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. It is best known for its dramatic, tree-like caudex and delicate, compound leaves that fold up at night, a fascinating nyctinastic behavior. The thick, woody base stores water, allowing it to thrive in dry conditions, while the slender branches give it a graceful bonsai-like silhouette. This species is deciduous, losing its leaves in winter before reawakening with fresh green foliage in spring. 

Water Needs:
Low to moderate; water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry between waterings. Keep almost dry during dormancy when leafless.

Light Requirement:
Full sun to bright indirect light. Prefers several hours of sunlight daily for strong growth and healthy foliage.
