Woven Roving provides an inexpensive means to laminate large, flat areas that call for rapid build-up and high strength reinforcement. It is not suited for applications that require conformability.
Woven roving is often used with chopped strand mat (CSM) to reinforce other materials and make repairs. In this specific case, it should be used with polyester or vinyl ester resin only, as the CSM keeps it from being compatible with epoxy. Otherwise, woven roving is compatible with all of the resins on this site.

Woven roving is the heaviest woven reinforcement in the Fibre Glast fiberglass lineup and is typically used in boat building and mold construction.
It provides high strength per layer, allowing fabricators to reach target laminate thickness in fewer plies. For mold construction, a combination of #250 Chopped Strand Mat and #223 Woven Roving, along with the use of a lightweight surfacing fabric, will generally create a sturdy, durable mold. Alternating layers of chopped strand mat and woven roving increases dimensional stability and strengthens the finished mold.
Mold building when combined with chopped strand mat and surfacing fabrics. Bonding fiberglass to plywood (use with mat). The #254 20 oz Tooling Fabric is another popular option for mold building where the highest strength is required.
The heavy basket weave creates a textured surface that will show through on cosmetic surfaces. Always begin the mold surface with a lightweight surfacing fabric such as #241 2 oz or #262 4 oz to minimize print-through of the heavier patterned materials.
Available as cut-to-length yardage (#223, min 10 yd), 1-yard package (#223-F), 3-yard roll (#223-A), and 5-yard roll (#223-B).
