Similar to the Kestrel 2000, with the addition of a pressure sensor, the Kestrel 2500 also records altitude and barometric pressure. A three-hour pressure trend indicator (an arrow on the screen showing the trend) helps you predict fish and wildlife activity and know when the weather's going to turn nasty.
Kestrel makes very advanced meters, like the 4500 and the Ballistic specific models for shooters, snipers, and hunters. The 2500 is a very common meter we sell for shooters as a less expensive option, with really, all the main features a marksman would need.
Also available in NV (Night Vision). See this blog on Understanding NV to see if its right for you...
Impeller:
Every Kestrel Meter features a large, 1” impeller mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing, which means it starts rotating with the slightest puff of air – 0.48 km/h to be exact! This patented impeller is user-replaceable by simply pushing it out with your thumbs, which means it can easily be replaced if it is damaged or worn. The measurements from the wind impeller are taken magnetically. The impeller is not glued or attached to the unit. Because every new impeller is calibrated in the wind tunnel at the USA factory, if your application demands regular calibration, simply pop in a new impeller and the Kestrel Wind Meter is restored to like-new factory calibration standards. The Kestrel 2500 can easily be switched between °F, °C, mph, km/h, ft/min, m/s, knots and Beaufort.
