Pear-shaped hematite-in-quartz mixed-cut.  When we sourced this stone, it was originally all faceted and horribly lopsided.  It has been re-cut to balance the shape of the pear and "move" the thickest portion to the center of the rounded end where it should be.  We left the table & crown facets intact on one side, and converted the faceted pavilion to a smooth dome.  We believe this gives you, the designer, flexibility in setting this beautiful gem -- you decide which way is up!
Dome side polished to a vitreous (glassy) luster, and we re-polished the table facet.  You will receive the exact gemstone shown in photos.
