This striking ½ penny green stamp from the Falkland Islands, issued under King George VI, features the image of Whale Jaw-Bones at Stanley, symbolizing the islands’ whaling heritage. Overprinted in red with “SOUTH SHETLANDS DEPENDENCY OF”, it was part of the 1944 issue that established postal authority for the British Antarctic territories.
