Integrated Diagnostic Software (IDS)

IDS provides complete dealership level vehicle diagnostic coverage for all 1996 to select 2018 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. IDS requires the use of Ford diagnostic hardware including VCM, VCM II, and VCMM devices.

Ford Diagnostic & Repair System (FDRS)

The next generation factory Ford Motor Company vehicle diagnostic Software designed for use with VCM II, VCMM and J2534 compatible Vehicle Communications Interfaces (VCI). FDRS provides complete dealership level vehicle diagnostic coverage for some 2018 and forward vehicles. FDRS provides superior capabilities, is more user-friendly and provides more diagnostic tools than IDS.

Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software (FJDS)

FJDS provides module reprogramming software that covers 1996 to select 2018 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury module reprogramming functions, plus complete dealership level diagnostic software for all 2018 to present Ford and Lincoln vehicles. FJDS is designed for use with J2534 compatible Vehicle Communications Interfaces (VCI) including Ford diagnostic hardware (VCM II, or VCMM). The FJDS software license includes time based access to the FJDS software, software updates and calibration files.

The VCM II is the new Ford OEM diagnostic tool. It provides dealer-level diagnostics using the IDS software.
The VCM II is the brand new diagnostics interface from Ford for use with the Integrated Diagnostics Software (IDS).
The VCM II and IDS, along with a dedicated laptop, provides full dealer diagnostic capabilities for most 16 pin Fords.
A fantastic new function of the VCM 2 is its ability to communicate wirelessly with your laptop or computer without any hardware or software upgrades. This allows technicians to work on vehicles remotely while the VCM II is connected directly to the vehicle.

The VCM II will be required for all new 2016 Ford vehicles and is backwards compatible with most 16 pin Ford and Mazda.
It supports the Vehicle Measurement Module (VMM) and new Customer Flight Recorder (CFR).
The VCM II has shock resistant rubber ends, making it suitable for garage and workshop environments.

The CFR replaces the Vehicle Data Recorder (VDR).
The CFR is an optional cable that allows the VCM II to monitor and record live data streams.
This provides an advantage for technicians when diagnosing intermittent problems.
