As everyone knows, I adore my pearls and have quite a personal collection. I'm a member of the Pearl Association & have done quite a lot of training just to facilitate my knowledge. They are the birthstone for June & 30th Wedding anniversary.

In Chinese culture pearls are revered as a symbol of luck & prosperity. Pearls are also said to come from the tears of Eve when she was banished from the garden of Eden. Other legends state that Pearls are the daughter of the moon & have been a royal favourite since they were discovered. 

These freshwater baroque pearls are good quality & have a thick layer of nacre & a beautiful creamy pinkish lustre. They're from a well respected supplier in Japan and untreated - under the loupe there are no indications of discolouration that has been masked by bleaching - unlike 99% on Etsy! The best way to check if pearls are real is to hold them in your hand for a couple of minutes - real pearls warm up, glass doesn't! They also feel rough against your teeth but I wouldn't advise this as you can scratch them. 

I'm passionate about maintaining my integrity so avoid pearls from China unless they have reports. Sadly these do not have reports because to even get them verbally reported on would cost £100 per strand making them cost prohibitive. Being a 4.5 on the Mohs scale you must keep them separate from harder gemstones in your jewellery box!

As with all of my stretch bracelets, should you notice the string becoming fragile, I'll restring them for £3 plus postage.
