We would like to introduce you to our new product for 2025: The Röhnfried Fatbooster. The Fatbooster will be available from January 2025.

Fatbooster ensures maximum energy supply during races and training thanks to its composition using insect fat, salmon oil, lecithin and pure oregano oil. The high proportion of medium-chain fatty acids in the Fatbooster has a positive effect on the shape and performance of the pigeons.

Fats play an essential role in the pigeon's metabolism as they act as energy suppliers, structural elements and signaling substances. As an energy source, fats provide approximately twice the amount of energy per gram (37 kJ/g) compared to carbohydrates (16 kJ/g) and proteins (24 kJ/g).

The pigeons draw on fat reserves from a flight time of 60 minutes, which makes fats the most important energy source for competitions. Fats are also important for the construction of cell membranes. They enable the flexibility and integrity of the cells and regulate which substances get in and out of the cell.

They also play a nutritionally important role in the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. These are fat-soluble, which means that they can only be absorbed and used effectively in conjunction with fat. A lack of fats can therefore lead to deficiencies in these vitamins, which are essential for immune function, bone health and antioxidant protection mechanisms. Fats therefore fulfil numerous functions that supply the body with energy, structurally support it and control its metabolism.

Oils have traditionally been used as a fat supplement. Since this year, however, we have had insect fat as a raw material for a health-promoting alternative. This insect fat offers a variety of advantages: It contains a high amount of unsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which have health-promoting effects. Insect fat also contains valuable antioxidants. The composition of insect fat includes a balanced mixture of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Lauric acid is an important saturated fatty acid in insect fat and is known for its antimicrobial properties. It can ward off harmful microorganisms such as bacteria (gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus), viruses and fungi and supports the immune system through its effect. In addition, lauric acid is a medium-chain fatty acid that is easily digestible and a quickly available source of energy.

The unsaturated fatty acids in insect fat include monounsaturated fatty acids such as oleic acid, as well as polyunsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid that is indispensable for the body and must be ingested through food. It supports cell structure and regulates inflammatory processes. Insect fat mixed with oregano oil, salmon oil and anise oil is particularly suitable as a versatile supplement before a race. It is absorbed excellently by the pigeons and thanks to the antimicrobial properties of lauric acid and the diverse health benefits of omega-6 and omega-3, insect fat supports the immune system and can have an inflammation-regulating effect.
