This is hands-down the most beautiful thing I came across this week, though photos do no justice to its presence and especially to the insanely gorgeous verdigris patina to the surface of the copper, which makes it feel like painting, or an ancient treasure, or like the most perfect giant antique Asian pottery vessel with the most fantastic glazing ever. Though it brings antique cupola finials and weathervanes to mind, I believe it is an antique float used for boat mooring, and is a very large one, over a foot in diameter. I'd be inclined to display it with the (threaded) neck at top such that it really does look like a giant spherical vessel. It will balance that way on its own, though pouring a bit of sand inside would help stabilize it; I'll also including a large wooden ring it rests nicely atop. Really a stunning thing.

13 t x 12 3/8” d and in very good condition. There are a couple of dents, as documented, which I don't think detract a bit.
