This artwork is part of my Nature series. In this study of digital painting simulating gouache, I worked on exploring the boundaries between traditional techniques and digital capabilities, adding de-focus to part of the image both through brushwork and digital gaussian filters. Exploring, for someone with a background in physics and optics, how to simulate the effect a Macro lens might have on the scene.
