Rainbow Moonstone is a variety of feldspar known for its captivating adularescence, a shimmering optical effect that displays flashes of blue, white, and occasionally other colors as light moves across its surface. Though commonly associated with moonstone, it is technically a form of labradorite within the feldspar group. With a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5, it is suitable for jewelry but requires care to prevent scratches. Major sources include India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Australia, where high-quality specimens are mined for their striking visual appeal.
