A maturation style never before explored at Stauning Whisky. This whisky has been matured in a Pinot Noir red wine cask, bringing a more elegant and refined character to the smoked single malt. Made from 100% locally sourced, floor-malted barley, smoked  with Danish peat & heather, and created in a grain-to-glass distillery that honours traditional production methods to develop a spirit with true depth and character.

In 2020, a French oak cask that previously held a Burgundy Pinot Noir was filled with Stauning's smoked single malt, allowing the whisky to evolve and develop its unique character over time.

Stauning Smoke Single Malt has notes of meadow honey, rosemary, thyme, fresh hay, campfire, fresh tobacco, citrus and malty sweetness. The Pinot cask adds delicate flavours of red berries like cherry, raspberries, plums and blackcurrant, with gentle acidity followed by floral undertones.
