This spur is made of iron, it has a good dark aged patina and its surface is stable.
It dates from the 19th Century.
It has a large six pointed rowel which still turns.
Part of the neck is crescent shaped . One side has the remains of engraved decoration.
The heel bands are wide, One side has deep cast diagonal lines - these probably once held silver inlay.
The other is quite plain.
Each arm ends in a rectangular slot. There is a swinging button on each arm.
