In 2013 the NZDF (New Zealand Defence Force) officially changed from its own native DPM camo to the new 'MCU' (Multi-terrain Camouflage Uniform). An interesting choice that was a camo variant from the Canadian company Hyperstealth. However, early runs of the wet weather sets were found to be substandard, and early into MCU's life the older DPM sets were substituted until what we see here was finally met with approval.

These wet weather trousers feature slash zips with flaps for access to pockets beneath and knee high side zips for ease of getting on and off without the removal of footwear. They also carry over a few similar features from the field trousers such as hook and loop waist and knee adjustments for a more precise fit, and front facing pockets.
