Issued in 1978 as part of Jersey’s Europa (CEPT) series, these two stamps beautifully depict the island’s coastal defenses. The 10½p stamp features Elizabeth Castle, standing proudly on a tidal islet in St. Aubin’s Bay — a symbol of Jersey’s maritime resilience. The 8p stamp portrays St. Aubin’s Fort, another historic stronghold guarding the island’s harbor. Both designs were created by Thomas Phillips and printed by Courvoisier, showcasing detailed artistry that highlights Jersey’s architectural and historical heritage. A prized issue for Europa and Channel Islands collectors alike.
