This is my favorite object I found at Brimfield, which I purchased from an excellent dealer who had it in his personal collection for several decades. Carved from one block of wood, what a sense of deep connection between parent and child it conveys, specific and universal. I love that the parent appears of no specific gender, and I love the faces--and ears!--on both parent and child. But most of all I love the dangling legs of the baby, draped around the waist of the holder. To me, absolutely wonderful.

5 5/8" t x 1 3/8" w x 2 3/4" d and in excellent condition. Early 20th century or so I would think. Signed on the underside with a street address too but a bit hard to read.
