A versatile monopod that switches between a 3-leg base or a single foot, can be used at ground level or up to over 6’ tall, and includes the innovative Key Grip Video Head with integrated hex key storage.

The Key Grip Video Monopod Kit provides a range of solutions in a sleek, lightweight package. Its two-way head provides separate pan and tilt adjustments (both with etched scales for when precision is needed) and features a control handle with a soft, comfortable grip. This removable handle is extendable and locks in place with a twist. Unscrew the aluminum cap from the end of the Key Grip handle’s grip to reveal a set of hex keys! Two 4mm hex keys can be used together to adjust the bolts on a tripod leg or individually to secure the included quick release plate to a camera or video rig. The included 2.5mm hex key can be used to adjust the monopod’s grub screw which keeps the head securely attached. The head’s tilt movement has tension adjustment for smooth, controlled motions, and silver touch points help quickly identify the control knobs. 

This head comes with the excellent 3398 Dovetail (arca-type) Quick Release Plate. This QR plate includes ¼”-20 and 3/8”-16 mounting bolts, both of which can be installed using either a flathead screwdriver or one of the two 4mm hex keys contained in the Key Grip’s handle. The plate also has a removable spring-loaded anti-twist pin. The QR plate is over 101mm long, making it easy to properly balance a camera rig. A scale on the QR platform makes it easy to quickly repeat any given setup. The QR platform is also repositionable and can be changed from front-to-back to a side-to-side sliding direction! This is particularly useful for mounting a camera with a cage or L-bracket attached. The plate uses a safety bolt design to prevent a camera from accidentally sliding off the head’s platform, and its Dovetail connection is compatible with a wide variety of plates and accessories from ProMaster and other brands.

Soft silicone on the monopod, handle, and twist locks provides a grip that is both comfortable and secure. The monopod is generously tall for a viewpoint above crowds, and its upper portion can be separated and installed directly to the 3-leg base for ground-level work! The 3-leg base features wide, foldable legs to provide stability. Its ball joint with tension control provides smooth panning and tilting, and a collar on the ball joint locks the monopod vertically for smooth panning. Remove the 3-leg base and install a soft foot or stainless-steel spike (both included) for a traditional monopod setup.

With a load capacity of 6.6 lbs, the Key Grip Video Monopod Kit is ideal for a mirrorless video rig and works great for still photos too. Many telephoto lenses with Dovetail style (arca-compatible) tripod collars work extremely well with the Key Grip head in achieving excellent tracking for wildlife or sports photography. Both the monopod and head are rated for use at -4°F / -20° C so they won’t let you down in the cold. The kit comes in a quality padded carrying case with an accessory pouch and shoulder strap for convenient transportation.
