Sauvignon Blanc from Kuitpo. The fruit was picked, de-stemmed, then pressed directly into mostly older French oak (a mixture of Hogs Head and Puncheon sizes) for wild yeast fermentation. The 22 version ended up spending ten months on lees before blending and bottling with a light pad filtration. Ten months lees contact is the most we have ever done for this wine. As a result, this is the most complex and textural version of the Island Life ever produced! Supporting this texture is delicate and luscious grapefruit, citrus and mineral characters. The cool 2022 vintage has resulted in producing wines with great intensity and depth of flavour. The Island Life is definitely one of the highlights of the 22 vintage.
