This piece of kit forms part of the newer PCS23 uniform issued to British armed forces. These have some updates from the previous Personal Clothing System UBACS including more durable camouflage side panels, side zip access to the upper sleeve pockets and the ability to accept shoulder padding. 

These have the same short stand-up collar, quarter-length zipper, adjustable cuffs, pockets on the sleeves along with breathable and moisture wicking torso fabric. Though not all come with the shoulder pads, the ability to accept them is welcomed by those lugging heavy packs. 

Originally for under vests, these also make great under layers for hiking or anything outdoors where you need to shed some heat.
