One of a handful today pulled from the already falling apart 1913 sketchbook of a young Henry Henkel of Lancaster, NY, who wrote his name many times all over it--and stamped it all over this particular page! This is the drawing that completely sold me on the sketchbook--I find this pastel crayoned eight point star, drawn over a fainter penciled grid, used to help him get it just right--a transcendently lovely thing. And with the star very much making me think of Lancaster, PA, I love seeing Lancaster, NY stamped around it.  

8 1/4" x 6 7/8". Crayon, graphite and ink stamp on paper. Very good condition.
