The pre-filter strainer basket is an added mechanism that catches larger particles such as leaves, hair, and debris. It also protects your pump's impeller and helps the pump run smoothly.

This filter pump has a 6-position valve, which can be adjusted to various settings for filtering pool water, closing (stopping water flow), backwashing (to clean the sand bed), rinsing (for initial setup, cleaning, and sand bed leveling), draining water from the pool, and circulating pool water.
