At Noughty, we choose not to use sulphates (SLS or SLES) that are used in conventional haircare to create big bubbles. These can be drying, scalp-irritating and have a reputation for stripping hair of natural oils and moisture. Instead, our shampoos' performance is driven by an innovative blend of naturally derived cleansers that are gentle on the scalp and hair. These combined with hydrating actives glycerine, sweat almond extract and wheat amino acids chosen to increase the moisture content of the hair, and wash hydration into hair and scalp.

Increasing the moisture content of hair is important for increasing its flexibility and strength. The more flexible hair is, the better able to withstand the pressures of styling and brushing without splitting, snapping or breaking. It’s why you’ll see us using combinations of hydrating and moisturising ingredients in To The Rescue’s formulations over and over again – glycerine and plant oils are among the easiest ones to spot. The glycerine increases the moisture content inside the hair shaft and the plant oils enhance the hair's barrier to ensure it stays put.
