This cushion features a handcrafted fabric woven by master artisan Mai in Kachin State, northern Myanmar. The design originates from the Kachin ethnic group and is traditionally woven on a frame loom at the Hka Hku workshop in Myitkyina—one of the community-based weaving centres supported by Turquoise Mountain.

Turquoise Mountain is working with women weavers across Myanmar’s ethnic groups, celebrating not only their remarkable craftsmanship but also the cultural identity and sense of community expressed through their textiles. Their charitable mission provides sustainable livelihoods for artisans while helping to preserve Myanmar’s diverse and endangered textile traditions.
