Mac Forbes is to Australia what the cistercian monks were to Burgundy and Alessandro Masnaghetti was to Barolo: which is to say he has played an imperative roll in mapping the terroir of the region-- especially in Yarra Valley, an area that is extremely diverse in soil types and microclimates.
