Inspired by the rich tidal marshes of the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage site

Oris’ mission to bring Change for the Better has turned its eyes on the Wadden Sea, the world’s largest tidal system and a UNESCO World Heritage Site which sits in the northwest region of the Netherlands and is a vital stopping point for more than 10 million migratory birds every year. New for 2023 is a continuation of the Dat Watt Limited Edition Aquis dive watch, this time rendered in a handsome gradient of green and grey inspired by the rich salt marshes of the Wadden Sea. In addition to the new dial color comes a new complication — the signature Oris pointer date, but rendered in a recessed aperture beneath the dial. 

As well as being symbolic, the Dat Watt Limited Edition II is a high-performance, real-world diver’s watch. Its 43.5 mm case is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres) and features a number of devices designed to ensure safe underwater timekeeping. It has a uni-directional rotating bezel for securely timing dives (the minutes scale appears on a grey tungsten bezel insert); a screw-down security crown with protection; and lumed hands and indexes for clear underwater legibility. It also comes with a blue rubber strap and a three-link stainless steel metal bracelet, both equipped with a safety clasp with an extension system so it can be worn over a wetsuit.

Inside beats a Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement that equips the watch with a small seconds at 9 o’clock (half of which is coated in lume to provide a diver with evidence the watch is running) and an unusual circular date function, indicated by a white dash that rotates through a 360-degree channel over a 31-day period.

Limited to 2,009 pieces to mark the year the Wadden Sea was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
