Sculptural composite stone wall light or sculpture in the shape of a seashell. The relief pattern shows beautifully when lit but is also stunning just as a sculptural piece. Made by Swedish-Norweigian sculptor Erling Valldeby, circa 1940s.

Erling Valldeby (1899-1973)

Norweigian-Swedish sculptor who trained at the Valand Academy of Fine Arts and in Paris. Valldeby is mostly known for sculptures and reliefs with mythological or biblical motifs as well as garden sculptures made from wood or stone. His work can be found in many churches around Sweden.
