Fit & Compatibility

How to Use It

• Fill the base — downstem ~2 cm below waterline.
• Pack your bowl, fit foil with poked heat holes (or seat an HMD).
• Light coals fully red before placing them on the bowl.
• Manage heat through the session by repositioning coals as the bowl matures.

Care & Maintenance

• Stem interior: warm water flush with a thin brush after every session.
• Glass base: warm soapy water plus lemon or bicarb to clear ghosting between flavours.
• Oxide metalwork: dry cloth only — never abrasives. The patina is the look; don't strip it.
• Replace grommets when they slacken. Store upright or disassembled in a dry spot.

Will the patina change over time?

Yes — and that's the point. The oxide finish is meant to develop and deepen with use. Wiping it down with a soft dry cloth keeps it clean without polishing the character out of it.

Is the draw the same as the Gold Safari?

Identical. The stem geometry, airway diameter and internal construction are the same across the entire Balha Safari range — only the exterior finish changes.
