Throughout the year, shelters  can become overwhelmed with pets as spots fill within the shelter. Cats and dogs are found wandering the streets, are surrendered by their owners, or may even be born and raised in a shelter. The animals at the shelter can end up being there for a long time.  These sweet fur babies deserve a loving and warm home to go to, so to encourage adoption it's vital that our furry shelter friends look their best.

A big factor that attracts people to adopt, whether they realize it or not, is how clean and nice a pet looks. An attractive photo of a cat or dog looking their best on a shelter's website will get more attention. A dog or cat looking spiffy at an adoption event or an in-person meeting draws more potential adopters. Fur babies looking their best is especially important if they are a little older or have been in a shelter for an extended period of time. However, shelters don't have the financial resources for these "extras" as they pay for housing and food for the many pets residing at their shelter, that's where you come in!
