A older rare bottle of Japanese whisky from the 1980s. the legitimate kind from a reputable long standing distillery.
Originally a joint venture between whisky giants Seagram, Chivas and Kirin, full control was assumed by Kirin in 2002. Focusing on blends for the domestic market there are few single malt or single grain releases. The distillery is equipped with a varied range equipment, pot stills sit along side kettles and column and as Kirin owns Four Roses bourbon casks dominate the maturation process.
Kirin-Seagram, a joint venture between Kirin Brewery, JE Seagram, and Seabass Brothers, was established in 1972. Fuji Gotemba Distillery was established in November of the following year. The distillery is a fusion of Kirin, Seagram’s, and Seabass’ respective technologies. The distillery is characterized by the use of Fuji’s subterranean water and the production of whisky with the motto “clean and elegant” to suit the Japanese palate.
