Princess Mononoke is Hayao Miyazaki's 1997 Studio Ghibli feature, an environmental epic set in late-Muromachi Japan that follows the conflict between the spirits of an ancient forest and the iron-mining settlement of Tatara-ba. Released theatrically July 12, 1997 by Toho, the film became the highest-grossing Japanese release of its year and a touchstone of Studio Ghibli's commercial peak. The B2 poster centers the title character San in her bloodied warrior face paint alongside the wolf god Moro, with Miyazaki's direct tagline 生きろ (Live) running down the left edge. A reference document for collectors of Studio Ghibli campaign materials and 1990s Japanese animation.
