English Walnut Stratified Seeds (Juglans regia)

Our seed is collected locally from a remarkable mother tree. It is a consistently heavy producer and proven hardy to this area. The nuts are rich and tasty with low bitterness and crack out easily (some will even crack out by hand).

English walnut, which is the variety most of us are familiar with eating, produces large, easy to crack nuts that have a tasty kernel inside. Unlike black walnut, the nuts often fall cleanly out of the husk when ripe, which makes processing much easier. Also unlike black walnut, english walnut seems to produce less juglone which makes it more compatible with gardens or landscapes that may contain juglone sensitive plants. Generally hardy to zone 5.
