The 2012 batch of this tea won first place, the GuoYin Cup, at the 2012 National Tea Evaluation.
The tea has a noticeable floral aroma. A tea that is soft at first but then follows with a strong cha qi and a balanced bitterness. This tea has a long lasting huigan (sweet aftertaste). It is beginning to show its age, with a developing smoothness. It's a good candidate for storage.
In 2006, Chen Sheng Hao bought the location of a famous Qing Dynasty tea factory, Fuyuanchang Hao 福元昌号. Chen Sheng Hao made this tea to revive the old Fuyuanchang signature flavour, described as, "gentleness in mouthfeel with powerful chaqi." This Yi Wu pu'er has been produced by Chen Sheng Hao since 2006.
