Antique Fred Harvey Green Turquoise Concho Stamped Thunderbird Silver Bracelet / Cuff

This lovely 1930 / 40's silver bracelet features a central Thunderbird motif with green turquoise stone and Concho / Roadrunner stamps running around the band.

This is a particularly fine bracelet from the days of the Santa Fe Railroad, Fred Harvey Hotel and Trading Post period. Made in the 1930 / 40’s to be sold to travellers on the new highway or rail system running through the Southwest. Shops that produced multiple pieces of the familiar heavily stamped design employed local Native American artists to complete the work. Each artisan was encouraged to use his or her own designs to create a large variety of stamps in which to choose from. There’s no artisan hallmark, but the slight irregularities in the stamping patterns and appliqué positioning, really speaks to its handcrafted nature. Fred Harvey era jewellery is widely collected as an antique jewellery genre valued for its Southwest look and historic context.
